With the following and pedigree of the Condor, it was a hard decision to replace it! The Phantom is built on the same lines as the infamous Condor, with a modified rocker for greater control, redistribution of rear hull volume for improved stability and less drag, greater fore deck volume for larger/taller paddlers, improved cockpit sizing and position, cut outs in the sides of the deck to allow paddles to enter closer to the boat and our own unique portage points:
The portage points are concave sections in the deck, behind the rear cockpit allowing handles to be fitted (an upgrade) so if the boat is carried suitcase style, it balances the weight proportionally between the paddlers. This allows faster portaging without the need to travel to the ends of the boat, saving precious seconds per portage.
This boat will require time to master it for complete beginners, before it will run at full speed. If you are considering DW, ensure you have a few months to get ready, or consider something more forgiving such as the Rogue K2.
